Why this matters more than anything else
Almost every serious problem involving an inflatable — damage, third-party injury, an insurance claim — traces back to inadequate anchoring or leaving a unit up in weather it was not designed for. It is the one area where cutting corners has consequences beyond the cost of the product.
Treat anchoring as the majority of your setup time. Inflation takes minutes; anchoring properly is the work.
Stakes, ballast and what to use where
On grass or soft ground, ground stakes driven at an angle away from the unit give the strongest hold. On tarmac, concrete or indoor flooring you cannot stake, so use sandbags or water barrels rated for the size of the display.
Use every anchor point the unit provides, not a selection of them. Anchor points are positioned to distribute load; using half of them concentrates force on the ones you did use and is how attachment points tear.
Shape changes wind loading
Tall narrow shapes — bottles, cans, tube men, arch legs — catch disproportionately more wind than squat wide ones. Two displays of the same height can need very different ballast depending on their profile.
Arches deserve particular care because they present a large surface to crosswind and span an area people walk or run through.
Knowing when to take it down
Set a wind threshold before your event and agree who makes the call. Waiting until a display is visibly straining is too late — deflating takes a few minutes and needs to start before conditions get bad.
Always deflate overnight and when the site is unattended. An unsupervised inflatable in rising wind is the classic failure scenario, and damage caused this way is not a manufacturing defect.
Siting checks before you commit
Check overhead clearance for power lines, tree canopy and building overhangs, and confirm the ground will take stakes if that is your plan. Do this before your build day rather than discovering a problem on site.
Keep the blower cable clear of walkways, and leave enough clear space around the base that a falling or shifting display cannot reach people, vehicles or hard edges.

What wind speed is too much for an inflatable?
Follow the guidance supplied with your specific product and your own risk assessment. The practical rule is to deflate early rather than late — once a display is visibly straining, conditions are already past the safe point.
Can I use an inflatable on concrete?
Yes, using sandbags or water ballast sized to the display rather than ground stakes. Grass is preferable when you have the choice.
Do I need to use every anchor point?
Yes. They are positioned to spread load evenly. Using only some of them concentrates force and is a common cause of torn attachment points.
Is wind damage covered by warranty?
No. Warranty covers manufacturing defects. Damage from leaving a unit inflated in high wind or storms is not a defect and is not covered.
